Requirements:
· Equivalent to
a Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field.
· Five years experience
and success in the chamber, business or non-profit field. Management level preferred.
· Direct, coordinate,
and supervise all activities necessary to successfully execute Chamber operations and events.
· Proven business
management, supervision, and leadership skills.
· Experience with
staff and volunteer recruitment, management, motivation and retention
· Well-versed in
the dynamics and issues of local government, and demonstrate expertise in collaborative business development strategies.
· Excellent verbal,
written, listening, organizational and follow through skills.
· Must be energetic,
results orientated, and a self-motivated professional.
· Ability to work
some evenings/weekends and holidays.
· Must be proficient
in Quicken, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage the day-to-day
activities of the Chamber while incorporating effective time and stress management skills.
· Solid financial
management and operations experience including the oversight of all invoicing, receivables, payables, reconciliation’s,
development of monthly reports, development of annual operating budget and payroll processing.
· Responsible for
all oversight and creation of all Chamber communications, including website, electronic, broadcast and printed pieces and
other miscellaneous media exposure and special projects.
· Develop and manage
membership recruitment and retention.
· Work collaboratively
with the Board of Directors.
· Prepare agenda,
and attend all Board of Directors Meetings.
· Responsible for
strategic and tactical advertising and sales plans, both annual and long-range.
· With the Chamber
President, act a spokesperson to the media on behalf of the Chamber.
· Able to work
in a team environment.
· Able to expeditiously
analyze business operations and recommend operational changes.
· Responsible for
the development and planning of chamber membership growth.
· Direct, coordinate,
and supervise all events, meetings and activities (small internal committees to large community functions).
· Able to multi-task,
prioritize responsibilities and meet multiple deadlines.
· Well-versed in
the dynamics and issues at the local, county and state level that impact business in the community.
· Seek grant opportunities,
write grant proposals and handle all record keeping and reporting for any successful grants or contracts.
· Able to interact
with key elected officials.
· Set realistic
goals based on Chamber core values and mission statement and develop plans to achieve them.
